Memberships and Facility Access

Yes. Members can be looked up manually and are allowed 3 forgotten card violations per semester across both Fike Recreation and Douthit Hills Fitness Center.

Part-time and co-op students may purchase a semester-long student membership in person at Fike Recreation Center or at the Campus Recreation website. These fees are the same as the fees a student would have paid with their tuition.

Fike Recreation Center Facility Information

Ten laps equal a mile. The track is 1/10 of a mile in length.

There are day use lockers available for use on a first come, first serve basis. Members must supply their own lock to secure items in a day use locker. If the member does not have a lock, they may purchase a combination lock from the Fike Welcome Center desk. All items must be removed from day use lockers before closing each day.

The day use lockers are located at outside the club gym, outside the climbing wall, and in the core hallway. There are full-size day use lockers in the men’s locker room (#376-385) and women’s locker room (#235- 244).

Day use lockers are free for all members. All items must be removed before closing each day.

Yes. The McHugh Natatorium is home to an eight-lane, 25-yard lap pool. All Campus Recreation members are able to use the pool free of charge. Please refer to https://www.clemson.edu/campus-life/campus-recreation/hours.html for open swim hours.

No. Due to safety concerns, the dive platform is permanently closed.

Yes, we have a sauna and a steam room. The sauna and steam room are located in our McHugh Natatorium. The sauna and steam room are currently closed to maintain safety protocols required under modified operations for COVID-19.

  • Yes. Closed-toe, closed-back, non-marking shoes are required.
  • A mask must be worn while in both facilities.
  • Cleats are not permitted in the facility. Jeans, zippers, belts, snaps, metal studs, and other materials on clothing that may damage equipment, upholstery, or flooring are not permitted.
  • Full torso covering shirts must be worn by all patrons in the Swann Fitness Center, unless detailed specifically in area requirements below.
  • Cut-off sleeves and tank tops are permitted, providing they completely cover the nipples and spine, and sides are cut no lower than the bottom of the rib cage. Clothing should serve as a safety barrier between skin and equipment as much as possible.
  • Campus Recreation staff may determine any item of clothing unacceptable.

The climbing wall is 30 feet high. The climbing wall features different levels of difficulty in climbing routes, and a bouldering wall.

That is our PlayCore rig. We offer fitness classes on the rig so that our members can learn to workout on the rig, and be challenged to try new exercises. All Campus Recreation members are able to use the PlayCore rig for free.

The glass room in the lobby is our Wellness Zone. The Wellness Zone is currently closed to maintain safety protocols under modified operations for COVID-19.

Yes. All items that are found inside Fike Recreation Center, Douthit Hills Fitness Center, the Intramural and Club Fields, fields at the Snow Family Outdoor Fitness and Wellness Complex, and the Andy Quattlebaum Outdoor Education Center will be held for no more than 48 hours. All items found in Fike Recreation Center, on the Intramural and Club Fields, will be held at the Welcome Center desk inside of Fike Recreation Center. Items found at Douthit Hills Fitness Center will be held at the Douthit Hills Welcome Desk for the same period of time as Fike Recreation Center. Items found on the Snow Family Outdoor Fitness and Wellness Complex and Andy Quattlebaum Outdoor Education Center will be held at the rental desk inside the Andy Quattlebaum Outdoor Education Center for 48 hours.

Apple provides a mobile credential service at Clemson University. If you have an iPhone or Apple watch, you may download your CUID to those devices via the myClemson app. Once that process is complete, you may use those devices to scan into any of the Campus Recreation facilities.

Fitness and Wellness

All group fitness except F45 classes are free to Campus Recreation members. F45 is an additional membership that may be purchased. For more information on the F45 program, please visit the F45 page.

Yes. Campus Recreation employs a staff of certified personal trainers. Our personal trainers offer comprehensive exercise programs designed to meet the goals of their clients. They offer training programs for individuals and small groups. For more information, please visit the Personal Training page.

No. We have a policy that does not permit non-Campus Recreation trainers to train clients in our facility.

No. We do not provide nutrition services at this time. Clemson Home has a registered dietitian on staff that helps students with dietary advice. For more information, please see the Clemson Home website.

Intramural Sports

Registration for all sports, tournaments, and events will take place via the IMLeagues website. Sports offered and registration dates are posted on the Intramural Sports page.

The lights on the Lower Intramural fields are turned on Monday-Friday from dusk until 10 p.m. Lights will not be available at other times unless a special event/reservation will be using those fields and have requested the lights be turned on. The lights on the Upper Intramural field are turned on early morning Monday-Friday for a special reservation only. Early Morning and nightly requests cannot be accommodated.

Club Sports

Club Sports are student organizations, so they are not included in the Fike membership. They have fees associated with their memberships. For more information, please see the Club Sports page or TigerQuest.

Hazardous Weather

  • If Clemson University closes, Fike Recreation Center may follow shortened hours of operation or follow University direction and close. The shortened hours of operation are subject to change according to the current state of weather and road conditions.

  • All programming activities will be canceled to include fitness, intramurals, club sports, and climbing wall activities.
  • The natatorium/pool will be closed. The pool closes with all lightning advisories.
  • Please do not venture outside when some hazardous weather conditions exists such as tornado, earthquakes, snow storms, ice storms, high winds, lightning, and others like these. Please be aware of your surroundings and do not jeopardize your safety!
