Memberships and Facility Access

I forgot my CUID card, can I still get into Fike Recreation Center or Douthit Hills Recreation Center?
Yes. Members are allowed 3 manual lookups per semester across both Fike Recreation and Douthit Hills Fitness Center.

I am a part time student, or, co-op student can I still go to Fike Recreation Center or Douthit Hills Fitness Center?
Part-time and co-op students may purchase a semester-long student membership on our Campus Recreation website or in person at Fike Recreation Center. These fees are the same as the fees a student would have paid with their tuition.
Fitness and Wellness

Are group fitness classes included in my membership?
All group fitness classes are free to Campus Recreation members.
F45 classes require an additional membership that can be purchased. For more information on the F45 program, please visit the F45 page.

Does Campus Recreation offer personal training services?
Yes. Campus Recreation employs a staff of certified personal trainers. Our personal trainers offer comprehensive exercise programs designed to meet the goals of their clients. They offer training programs for individuals and small groups. For more information, visit the Personal Training page.

May I bring in my own personal trainer to train me at Fike or use a personal trainer friend that is a Fike member to train me at Fike?
No. To ensure the safety of our members, we only permit personal trainers employed by Campus Recreation to train clients in our facility.

Does Campus Recreation provide nutrition services?
No. We do not provide nutrition services at this time. Clemson Home has a registered dietitian on staff that helps students with dietary advice. For more information, please see the Clemson Home website.
Fike Recreation Center Facility Information

How many laps on the indoor track equals a mile?
Ten laps equals a mile. The track is 1/10 of a mile in length.

If I cannot have my gym bag on the floor with me, what options do I have?
There are day use lockers available for use on a first come, first serve basis. Members must supply their own lock to secure items in a day use locker. If the member does not have a lock, they may purchase a combination lock from the Fike Welcome Center desk. All items must be removed from day use lockers before closing each day.

Where are the day use lockers located?
The day use lockers are located at outside the club gym, outside the climbing wall, and in the core hallway. There are full-size day use lockers in the men’s locker room (#376-385) and women’s locker room (#235- 244).

May I rent a locker for a day? What is the price?
Day use lockers are free for all members. All items must be removed before closing each day.

Is there a pool at Fike Recreation Center?
Yes. The McHugh Natatorium is home to an eight-lane, 25-yard lap pool. All Campus Recreation members are able to use the pool free of charge. Please refer to our facility hours page for open swim hours.

May I use the dive platform in McHugh Natatorium?
No. The dive platform is permanently closed.

Is there a sauna or a steam room in Fike Recreation Center? What are the hours if available?
Yes, we have a dry sauna and a steam room. They are both located on the pool deck in McHugh Natatorium. Please refer to our facility hours page for sauna and steam room hours of operation.

Is there a dress code for working out at Fike Recreation Center and Douthit Hills?
- Yes. Closed-toe, closed-back, non-marking shoes are required.
- Cleats are not permitted in the facility.
- Jeans, zippers, belts, snaps, metal studs, and other materials on clothing that may damage equipment, upholstery, or flooring are not permitted.
- Campus Recreation staff may determine any item of clothing unacceptable.

How tall is your climbing wall?
The climbing wall is 30 feet high. The climbing wall features both natural and flat wall as well as a bouldering cave. There are varying levels of difficulty in climbing routes and they are changed up every few months.

What is the orange playground equipment outside of Fike?
That is our PlayCore rig. We offer fitness classes on the rig so that our members can learn to workout on the rig, and be challenged to try new exercises. All Campus Recreation members are able to use the PlayCore rig for free.

What is the small, glass room inside the Fike lobby?
The glass room in the lobby is our Wellness Zone. Feel free to use it as a quiet space to study, hang out, and relax.

Do you have a lost and found?
Yes. All items that are found at campus recreation facilities or on campus recreation properties will be held for no more than 48 hours. For sanitary purposes, any personal hygiene items will be discarded.
- Items lost in Fike Recreation Center on the Intramural and Club Fields will be held at the Welcome Center desk inside of Fike Recreation Center.
- Items lost at Douthit Hills Fitness Center will be held at the Douthit Hills Welcome Center Desk.
- Items lost at the Snow Family Outdoor Fitness and Wellness Complex and Andy Quattlebaum Outdoor Education Center will be held at the rental desk inside the Andy Quattlebaum Outdoor Education Center.

Can I use my mobile credentials to access Campus Recreation facilities?
Yes! You can use your watch or phone with loaded credentials to access any Campus Recreation facilities. Don't worry, you can also still access with your physical CUID card.

Intramural Sports

How do I register for Intramural sports?
Registration for all sports, tournaments, and events will take place via the IMLeagues website. Sports offered and registration dates are posted on the Intramural Sports page.

How do I get the Intramural fields lights turned on?
The lights on the Lower Intramural fields are turned on Monday-Friday from dusk until 10 p.m. Lights will not be available at other times unless a special event/reservation will be using those fields and have requested the lights be turned on. The lights on the Upper Intramural field are turned on early morning Monday-Friday for a special reservation only. Early Morning and nightly requests cannot be accommodated.
Club Sports

What Club Sports are offered and are they free with my membership?
Club Sports are student organizations, so they are not included in the Fike membership. They have fees associated with their memberships. For more information, please see the Club Sports page or TigerQuest.

Free Check-out Equipment

What equipment do you have to rent at the Fike Recreation Center Welcome Center desk?
Badminton equipment, racquetball equipment, tennis equipment, jump ropes, resistance bands and loops, basketballs, footballs, volleyballs, soccer balls, jump ropes, and yoga mats. All items may be checked out when availability permits.

I checked out equipment from the Fike Recreation Center Welcome Center, and my friend wants to keep using it after I leave. May I leave it with them?
All equipment is checked out to a single member via their Campus Recreation credentials. The member checking out the equipment is responsible for ensuring the item is returned undamaged. If the item is not returned or returned damaged, the member who checked out the equipment will be responsible for paying the replacement fees before being allowed access to Fike Recreation Center again.

I have a basketball that is not the same one that I checked out. May I check this basketball in at the Welcome Center instead of the one I checked out?
A member is responsible for any equipment they check out. A member may check in another basketball to the Welcome Center. The member will still be responsible for turning all the equipment they have checked out in addition to items they have found. If the item the member checked out is lost or stolen, the member who checked the equipment out will be assessed a replacement fee for that item. These fees must be paid before the member may access the facility again.

If I want to play volleyball, badminton, table tennis, or indoor soccer, can I get the equipment set up?
We have the equipment available to be set up for our members’ use. Campus Recreation staff may set the equipment up provided the facility space is not already reserved. All room reservations will take precedence over drop-in play. Please make all requests for equipment set up at the Fike Recreation Center Welcome Center desk. Campus Recreation offers designated open recreation times for different indoor sports throughout the semester.
Hazardous Weather

In the event of hazardous weather conditions and emergencies, Fike Recreation Center will adhere to the following policies:
- If Clemson University closes, Fike Recreation Center may follow shortened hours of operation or follow University direction and close. The shortened hours of operation are subject to change according to the current state of weather and road conditions.
- For the latest updates, please check the What’s Happening Now page, call the Fike Recreation Center Welcome desk 864-656-3453, call the University’s Hazardous Weather Hotline 864-656-3311, visit the University Hazardous Weather page.
- For the latest local, regional, and national weather conditions, please visit the National Weather Service.
- All programming activities will be canceled to include fitness, intramurals, club sports, and climbing wall activities.
- The natatorium/pool will be closed. The pool closes with all lightning advisories.
- Please do not venture outside when some hazardous weather conditions exists such as tornado, earthquakes, snow storms, ice storms, high winds, lightning, and others like these. Please be aware of your surroundings and do not jeopardize your safety!
