First-Year Student Council

First Year Student Council logoLaunched in Fall 2022, the CECAS First-Year Student Council aims to provide insight and guidance on co-curricular opportunities that enhance the first-year student experience.

Meetings are student-focused; members serve on committees specific to making an impact in academic and social settings. Council members develop leadership and team-building skills while interacting professionally with faculty, staff, and peers. Throughout each term, members collaborate with upper-level students on the CECAS Student Advisory Board.

Sponsored by the CECAS Office of Student Engagement, the First-Year Student Council participates in the following:

  • CECAS Ready, Set, Roar! sessions
  • First-year programming and events
  • CECAS Welcome Week activities
  • Student involvement and CECAS organization fair
