Stephen Croucher, Ph.D., Director

Dr. Stephen Croucher, Director, Clemson University Social Media Listening CenterStephen M. Croucher, Ph.D., is a professor of communication at Clemson University. He studies organizational and intercultural communication. He has authored more than 135 peer-reviewed journal articles in journals such as Communication Monographs, Management Communication Quarterly, Journal of Applied Communication Research, Communication Education, International Journal of Conflict Management, Vaccines and Mass Communication and Society. He has authored/co-edited more than 15 books and given keynote addresses in more than 25 nations. He serves on the editorial boards of various journals and served as the editor of the Journal of Intercultural Communication Research, Speaker and Gavel, and Frontiers in Communication. He is the editor of the Review of Communication and editor-elect for Communication Monographs. He is a Fellow of the International Communication Association. He has held various leaderships positions in the National Communication Association, International Communication Association and the World Communication Association. He is currently the newly re-elected President of the World Communication Association.

Enamul Kabir, Ph.D., Research Associate

Dr. Enamul KabirEnamul Kabir, Ph.D., recently earned his Ph.D. in media and communication from Bowling Green State University, Ohio. He holds a master's degree in communication studies from Minnesota State University and currently serves as a Research Associate in the Social Media Listening Center at Clemson University. Dr. Kabir's research delves into understanding how online interaction patterns affect marginalized ethnic identities, public health, and the environment. His prior research utilized novel computational techniques for social media data analytics in the realms of hate and counter-hate discourse, misinformation, and democratic participation.

Dr. Kabir is also engaged in teaching and leading workshops on the application of computational methods to handle big data. The topics covered in these sessions span from topic modeling to conducting supervised machine-learning-based thematic analyses.

Jessica Hoffman, Associate Director

Jessica Hoffman, Associate DirectorJessica Hoffman is currently the Associate Director of the Social Media Listening Center and a Lecturer in the Department of Communication. She completed her M.S. in Communication Management from the University of North Florida and her B.A. in Strategic Communication from Flagler College. She is also currently a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Central Florida. Her primary research focuses on risk and crisis communication, social media, PR, and nonprofit management. She is also an active member and a Fundraising and Digital Media Strategist for the International Crisis & Risk Communication Association.

Kimberly Brooks, Graduate Research Assistant

Kimberly Brooks, Graduate AssistantKimberly Brooks is a graduate of Clemson University with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Sports Communication. She was active in Greek life on campus, holding many leadership positions during her undergraduate experience. Her research interests lie in Media Communication and Social Media Analytics, in particular how parasocial relationships affect moral behavior of consumers in a digital space. She is currently a graduate student in Clemson’s M.A. Communication program.

Interns

Adeline LundyAdeline Lundy is a junior marketing major with a minor in sports communication. She is from Columbia, South Carolina and grew up as a huge Clemson fan. She is interested in the social media aspects of sports and is thoroughly looking forward to the upcoming semester.

Eric DantzlerEric Dantzler is a marketing major with a minor in brand communications. I look forward to working with different brands to improve their social media presence while building quality connections with those I work with.

Danielle Hart Danielle Hart is a senior at Clemson University from Narragansett, Rhode Island, pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice with minors in Sports Communication and Brand Communication. Her involvement includes Gamma Phi Beta, the Association for Women in Sports Media, and Tigervision. She's excited to learn more about social media analytics this semester!

Hannah NelsonHannah Nelson is a senior in Sports Communication with a minor in non-profit leadership from Alpharetta, Georgia. She is interested in social media analytics in sports-specific areas and studying social media listening about specific brands and corporations.

Bailey YoungBailey Young is a junior marketing major with a minor in brand communications. A proud Clemson Tiger and sports enthusiast, she is excited to enhance her skills in analytics and explore innovative approaches to data-driven marketing strategies.
