Summer CI + UR
The Summer CI + UR program offers Creative Inquiry students the opportunity to fully immerse in research for 10 weeks over the summer under the guidance of a faculty mentor. To apply for this award, students must be nominated by a CI mentor and are then asked to complete an application. Student recipients of the Summer CI + UR award receive a stipend to support their experience. Nominations for 2025 are closed.

Program Information
- In this 10-week program (May 18 – July 24, 2026) students receive a stipend to fully engage in research. Students will be notified of application status March 13. Contracts and logistics will be reviewed at the Summer UR Program Orientation TBD.
- Students are required to:
- conduct mentored research;
- submit a reflection on their experiences;
- prepare an abstract and poster presentation of their research results;
- present their summer research at the August 18, 2026 Summer Showcase.
- Students are encouraged to participate in weekly lunch seminars and workshops.

Program Eligibility
- Mentors must be in good standing with the CI + UR Office (active CI projects, FoCI participation and annual report submission).
- Student must be enrolled in spring 2026 and fall 2026 as undergraduates.
- Student CAN NOT have employment or enroll in classes during the program dates.

Application Deadlines
- Students must complete their applications by March 2.
- Faculty mentors should nominate students well in advance of March 12, to give students time to complete the application by March 12.
- Students will be notified of their acceptance into the Summer CI program by March 13.
