Crime Prevention
The first step in crime prevention is the realization that to prevent crime we must be aware of the risk factors and we must accept that crime prevention is a shared responsibility. Campus safety is an entire community priority, and CUPD will take the lead in keeping our campus a safe place to live, learn and play.
Despite the relatively low level of crimes that occur on campus and in the surrounding city, we are not immune to crime. It is important for all citizens to take a proactive role in crime prevention. To this end, the CUPD provides numerous educational programs to the campus community. These programs include:
- Rape Aggression Defense (RAD)*
- DUI and Alcohol Awareness Education
- Violence in the Workplace
- Common Sense Self-Defense
- Campus Safety (Crime at Clemson)
We can tailor programming to address your group's needs. If you have a need or interest in crime prevention programming contact Sergeant Michelle Young or call 864-656-5256.
*If you are a Greek life chapter on campus interested in RAD training for your organization, contact TCO Nicole Rife for more information. All other organizations and faculty/staff, contact Sgt. Michelle Young .
