Statewide Certification

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

This year the CEPSCI team has been focusing on program expansion and refinement for all aspects of the Statewide NPDES Construction General Permit (SCR100000).

Starting in August 2026, the CEPSCI Statewide Certification will now consist of 1.5 days of in-class instruction and certification exam the afternoon of the 2nd day. Those persons seeking certification must attend both days of instruction and pass the corresponding exam. Currently certified inspectors seeking recertification, are required to complete a series of professional development online training modules prior to the expiration date indicated on their CEPSCI letter or card.

Certification is open is anyone, and there are no current prerequisites.

  • Statewide Class Registration

    ONLINE REGISTRATION is available for all offered classes, this is the preferred method. If an invoice is required, EMAIL the CEPSCI office and include the following information.

    1. Class date (CEPSCI number for recertification)
    2. Registrant's first and last name
    3. Mailing address
    4. Registrants email
    5. Driver’s license number

    A registration confirmation will be sent by email as soon as possible.

    Registration for online certification classes will close 10 days before the schedule event. Registration for all other events will close 1 week before the event date. These closures are at the discretion of the CEPSCI Team. Please reach out by EMAIL if you wish to be added to a closed class.

  • Statewide Payment and Fees
    • Statewide certification class, exam and materials - $395
    • Statewide technical class and materials only - $345
    • Statewide Re-registration fee - $100
    • Statewide online recertification - $275
    • Statewide retest - $35

    The technical class is intended for those persons seeking to obtain knowledge concerning erosion prevention, sediment control, and other specifics relating to work site compliance under SCR160000. Attendees under this designation will not become certified through the program or receive a CEPSCI card.

    Payment is required prior to the registered class date.

  • Statewide Cancellation Policy

    In-Person Classes:

    • If a participant cancels their registration more than 48 hours before a class, their registration fee will be refunded, less a $35 processing fee.

    Online Classes:

    • If a participant cancels their registration and materials have not been mailed, their registration fee will be refunded, less a $35 processing fee.
    • If a participant cancels their registration and materials have been mailed, their registration fee will be refunded, less a $70 processing and materials fee.

    A participant may send a substitute in their place, if they inform the CEPSCI Team of the substitute’s name no later than 24 hours before the class.

    If a participant does not cancel before the 48-hour deadline their registration fee will not be refunded.

    No-shows have the option of paying $100 to re-register and reschedule for an alternate class date. This must be done within 1-month of the original class date.

    No-shows will not have their registration or re-registration fee refunded.

  • Statewide Cheating Policy

    If a participant has been found cheating on an online CEPSCI exam or retest, they will lose the option for further online testing.

    If an online participant fails to properly scan the room the CEPSCI Team may require retesting.

    If a participant has been found cheating, their exam grade will be a zero (0). This score will be counted as an attempt at the certification examination.
