First-Year Applications
Enrollment deposits are processed within two to three business days. After processing, Clemson usernames generally appear in the Housing and Dining system within one to two business days. Upon receiving these records, you will be able to complete your housing application. There is a one academic year live on-campus requirement for first-year students. If you plan to live at home or are seeking an exemption, please review the residency waiver appeals process.
First-Year Housing & Room Selection
Housing is guaranteed as long as you meet Clemson’s first-year housing requirements and deadlines. Your room selection time determines when you choose your room and what spaces are available when it is your turn. It does not determine whether you will have housing.
How are room selection times decided?
If you are part of a complete roommate group in the Clemson Home Portal, you will select a room earlier than if you are selecting on your own. If you’re selecting on your own, that’s okay. Your room selection time will just be later than students who are part of a roommate group.
Selection time is also based on:
-
The community you choose to live in
-
The date you submitted your Clemson admissions application
The priority housing application completion date is May 14, 2027, at 12 p.m. (noon). The assignments team will make room assignments for students who submit a housing and dining application after the deadline, throughout June and July. Housing is guaranteed for first-year students.
