Clemson Home Family
Family Programs
Clemson provides an abundance of resources at your disposal to keep you engaged and informed. The Clemson Families website and the Division of Student Affairs website, two of such resources, are gateways to a wealth of information related to student initiatives, volunteer opportunities, family events and student safety, to name a few.
Family Experiences
Room change policy
An important part of living in a residential community is learning to live with a roommate(s). We encourage residents to move in, get to know one another and complete a roommate agreement to create shared expectations for their living space. If there are concerns about living situations, visit the Living With Others section.
Maintenance issues
If there is a maintenance concern, students may submit a maintenance request through the University Facilities website.
Medical
Redfern Health Center provides on-campus student health services.
For documented disabilities or ongoing medical needs, reach out to the Student Accessibility Services(SAS) Department to register and coordinate accommodations.

Assignments 101: Understanding Housing Requirements
At Clemson, we believe living on campus during the first year is an important part of the college experience. We are helping students build community, develop independence and stay connected to campus resources. Here’s what families should know about housing requirements and options:
First-Year and Bridge to Clemson Students
All first-year and Bridge to Clemson students are required to live in University housing for their first academic year. Summer Start students are required to live in University housing for Summer session and their first academic year.
Waivers are available in limited circumstances, such as when a student’s permanent residence is within one of the three local South Carolina counties (Anderson, Oconee, Pickens) or the student is age 21 or older.
Continuing Students
For continuing and transfer students, University housing is optional and not guaranteed. Space is limited, and assignments are made during the application process in the Spring semester each year. Most continuing and transfer students choose to live off campus in apartments or other housing options in the Clemson area.

Clemson Home Communications
Emails and Text Messaging: Emails are sent to the student’s Clemson University email account and to a personal email if one is provided in the portal. Text messages are sent to the phone number on file. Messages are sent sparingly and only for immediate action items (e.g., lockouts).
Social Media: Anyone may follow Clemson Home on social media. Current stories, updates and upcoming events are shared regularly.
Tiger Den: Only students with a Clemson University email address may join Tiger Den by invitation. Community messaging through Tiger Den includes: maintenance updates (e.g., water outages, filter changes), community news and communication with other students in the same residential area.
-
Clemson Home Portal
Only students may log-in to the Clemson Home portal. They must first have a CUID number and create a username.
The portal is where students sign their housing contract, submit various housing forms, select their housing space and purchase meal plans and Paw Points.
