Breaks

Residence halls and apartments stay open during Fall Break, Thanksgiving and Spring Break. There are fewer staff members available, but the on-call protocol remains the same. Dining hours and locations will be limited, so check the dining website for updated hours before break.

October 12-13, 2026 | Fall Break

November 25-27, 2026 | Thanksgiving Break

Winter Break And Fall 2026 Move-Out

Housing Closes:  December 12 at 10 a.m.

Over Winter Break, only apartments stay open. If you know you will need to stay on campus over, Winter Break you must select to live in an apartment.

Returning Residents

  • Fall Self Check-Out: Complete your self check-out through the Clemson Home portal.

  • You will keep your room key for spring semester, but your resident access will be turned off once the check-out process is complete.

  • If you need to stay past closing or remain through Winter Break, complete the Winter Break Form available on the Clemson Home portal.

 

 

Non-Returners

  • Please speak with your RCM or House Manager for more information. You will need to schedule a check-out appointment to be completed with a Residential Living staff member. After your belongings are completely removed, Residential Living staff will walk through your space with you, collect your key and check you out.


 

 

Spring 2027 Move-Out

Housing Closes:  May 1 at 10 a.m.

  • Check-out meetings will be held with your Resident Community Mentor (RCM).

  • You will schedule your check-out appointment directly with your RCM to complete the process.

  • Please note that Clemson Home does not provide summer storage, so plan to remove all belongings from your space before departure.

    Condition of Your Space

    A normal amount of wear and tear to furniture, walls, carpets, etc. is expected after living in a particular space during the academic year. Residents will not be responsible for wear and tear that has occurred through normal everyday use of their space. Remember you can submit maintenance requests by filling out the online form at any time.

    University Housing Beds

    All beds should be left assembled at their original height before checking out. Modular beds should be left with approximately 36” clearance under the mattress. Bed rails provided by University Housing may be left attached to the bed.

    Microfridge

    Collegiate Concepts will pick up your microfridge. They should be unplugged, clean and dry; the fridge and freezer doors should be left open.

    Bicycles

    Take your bicycle home! Abandoned bikes will be impounded and recycled two weeks from the date they are deemed abandoned. To reclaim a bicycle, call Parking and Transportation Services at 864-722-3625.

Summer dates to move out are based on the summer sessions dates a student is attending.
