Meet the Interns

Guy Higdon

I am a senior civil engineering student that will graduate in December 2016. I primarily focus on structures and how buildings are put together. I enjoy flying drones over new places to see things from a different perspective.

Madison Phillips

Madison is studying Environmental and Natural Resources with a concentration of Conservation Biology. She was raised on Lake Wateree in Camden, SC, where her love of freshwater originated. Madison plans to take the soil and water conservation route for her future career field.

Research Project: Currently creating a Filter Strip Retrofit at the Entox Center, that will fan into the current channel leading to the stormwater drain. She is currently designing a vegetated retrofit, that will servie as a conveyance system functioning to absorb pollutants, reduce sediment, and improve infiltration rates of stormwater before entrance into the drain. This filter strip will improve water quality treatment, thus providing an education demonstration site for future interns to build on.
