Aquatic Animal Research Lab
The Aquatic Animal Research Laboratory (AARL) is managed by the Office of Animal Resources to bring investigator led projects to fruition in an AAALAC accredited, PHS assured, USDA registered facility. We are equipped with state-of-the-art culture systems, microscopy, and microinjection equipment for a variety of fish and other aquatic animal models. AARL is staffed with experienced technicians and veterinarians that provide comprehensive support for research conducted at our facility.

Facility Access Requests
Requesting Access to the Facility
To request card access to an Office of Animal Resources facility, the individual must first be listed on the active Animal Use Protocol (AUP) under which they will be working. Personnel may be added either during the initial protocol submission or through an amendment after the protocol has been approved.
Once the protocol or amendment has received IACUC approval, the Principal Investigator (PI) should contact the Building Security Coordinator (BSC) directly (email hmarti2@clemson.edu) to initiate an access request. The BSC will verify the individual's inclusion on the protocol by reviewing the approval status. If confirmed, card access will be granted.
Please note that card access is not automatically granted upon protocol or amendment approval by the IACUC. A direct request to the BSC is required.
