What’s Up with Workday sessions will showcase Workday functionality of broad interest. These sessions will familiarize attendees with Workday’s key features, ensuring a smooth transition, but also spark excitement for the comprehensive training program ahead. By getting a sneak peek into what Workday offers, attendees will be better prepared to embrace the full training, ready to leverage Workday to its fullest from the very start.

Session Overview

  • Each session will take place via Zoom Webinar.
  • All sessions are open to faculty, staff and student employees.
  • Each session will be recorded, and recordings will be available to all of Clemson.
  • Each session will last 60 minutes.

  • These sessions do not replace training. They are supplemental sessions to introduce Workday essentials and encourage participants to get to know the innovative changes that will be possible with Workday.
  • Training will begin in 2026.

Information about Session Topics

Workday Navigation and Benefits

What can you do in Workday? This session will give participants a glimpse into navigating Workday and actions available through Employee Self-Service, like updating personal and contact information, setting up direct deposit and viewing their compensation. This session will also explore Manager Self-Service and the tasks supervisors can complete in the system.

Expenses

When Workday launches, expenses and spending will move from Concur to Workday. This session will explore how to complete spend authorizations and track and approve expenses. Some functionalities in Concur will remain, so this session will provide an overview of how and when to use Concur.

Procurement

Clemson will sunset use of BuyWays and transition to Workday for requisitions and purchase orders that don’t involve the state. This session will explore the purchase process, how to manage receipts and invoices, and how to use a P-Card and verify your purchases.

Recruiting, Hiring and Onboarding (Staff)

We’re looking for top talent, and Workday will help us manage those searches. Get a look at the job requisition process in Workday, including the staff candidate experience and how the system facilitates screening, interviewing and offering employment. This session will explore the staff recruiting, hiring and onboarding process, specifically.

Time Tracking and Leave

Employees will use Workday to track time worked and request leave. This session will provide an overview of tracking, approving, and correcting time worked, along with requesting, approving, and correcting leave.

Grants Management

Workday will also provide grant management capabilities. In this session, you’ll get a look at the Principal Investigator dashboard and see how you can navigate throughout the module.

Hiring Students (Undergraduate and Graduate)

Workday will streamline the hiring process for undergraduate and graduate students. This session will look specifically at the job requisition process for students and demonstrate how to hire students in the system.

Dashboards and Reporting, Training Information

As the launch of Workday@Clemson approaches, the University will roll out a broad and extensive training plan to ensure all members of our Clemson community feel prepared to use the system. This session will provide an overview of the training approach, along with information on dates, topics, and delivery methods for training. This session will also provide a glimpse into the broad reporting capabilities within Workday.

Mobile Applications, Get Ready for Workday

An exciting feature in Workday is the ability to manage certain actions from your mobile device. This session will familiarize attendees with the Workday app and give individuals guidance on how to prepare for the launch of Workday.

Get Set for Go-Live

What can you expect when the system goes live? This session will share how to access Workday, and what you can expect in the first days, weeks and months of Clemson’s exciting business transformation.
