Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Patterson has specialized in narrative, religious ethics, and culture. In his academic work, Patterson has applied concepts from historical and contextual theology to questions of identity in contemporary multicultural American society and has pursued the concept of "character" through literary criticism, acting theory, ethical systems, and creative writing. Keenly interested in dialogue across denominations and faiths, he has also taught at Meredith College, Anderson University, and Francis Marion University. Several of his essays have been published in various volumes of the Blackwell Philosophy and Pop Culture Series.
