Dr. Eben Williams earned his bachelor’s degree in Extension Studies and Humanities at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. His master’s degree is in Educational Leadership from Regent University in Virginia. Due to the many years he lived in Spain (since his late teens), particularly in the region of Castilla y Léon, Dr. Williams is fluent in Castilian Spanish and is well acquainted with many regional cultures of Spain.

Dr. Williams earned his CAGS (Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies / El Diploma de Estudios Avanzados- El DEA) at The University of Antonio de Nebrija (Madrid, Spain 2007-2012), with a concentration in Applied Linguistics in Spanish. Thereafter, Dr. Williams gained admission into the doctoral program at The University of Leon (Spain) and in 2017 he earned his Ph.D. with honors (sobresaliente) in Hispanic and Classical Studies. His dissertation and research interest are in the acquisition of Spanish lexicon by speakers of other languages, particularly, speakers of English.

In his spare time, he enjoys developing Spanish instructional materials and has customed published an anthology of literary works for learners of Spanish as a second language. Dr. Williams is blessed with the gift of languages and loves learning foreign languages of which he fluently speaks six. His hobbies include studying foreign cultures and civilizations, as well as Linguistic Anthropology. Dr. Williams also enjoys travelling, listening to music, reading, and making meals for his wife and two daughters on weekends and on special occasions.

At Clemson University, Dr. Williams teaches a variety of Spanish courses including Elementary and Intermediate I and II courses, and Contemporary Hispanic Cultures at the advanced level.
