McKenzie Sheperis is a first-year History MA student and Graduate Teaching Assistant. She received a BA in History at Clemson in May 2024. McKenzie’s research focuses on modern Ireland, particularly focusing on national identity and global perceptions of the country and its citizens through a lens of popular culture. She intends to explore different aspects of popular culture including, but not limited to, music, film, sports, and social media and how they reflect social change in 21st century Ireland. Additionally, McKenzie is also interested in the sociopolitical relationships between Ireland and other international powers such as the United Kingdom and United States.
