Roland is currently an Associate Professor of Global Black Studies in the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies at Clemson University. Her research is in the area of cultural anthropology with a focus on Cuba and the African diaspora in the Caribbean. She has topical interests in the cross-cultural relevance of tourism, entrepreneurship, national identity, racial and gender constructions, popular cultural practices.
