Dora Impson is a graduate student at Clemson University in the Department of History and Geography. Her research interests include race, religion, and rights of the African American community, particularly from 1877 to 1940. Dora is particularly interested in the use of property lawfare against black landowners, the use Christianity as agency among black Americans, and lament as demonstrated by the black church through writings and songs. Dora holds a B.A. in Early Childhood Education and has twenty-three years of teaching experience in a multitude of classroom settings. She is looking forward to exploring black property loss during in the post Reconstruction South as her thesis topic.
