Research Computing and Data

Welcome to Research Computing and Data

Research Computing and Data (RCD) supports Clemson University’s research ascension by combining advanced cyberinfrastructure with expert research computing professionals who partner with faculty, students, and staff to accelerate discovery, innovation, and impact.

The RCD team supports Clemson’s High Performance Computing systems and provides user support to facilitate computational and data science research and instructional activities. RCD provides training, consulting, and develops hardware and software infrastructure solutions. The team represents Clemson within the national cyberinfrastructure ecosystem, building partnerships that connect the university’s researchers to a nationwide network of advanced computing, data, software, and research infrastructure resources.

Headshot of Assistant Professor Matt Hudson

“Palmetto compute resources allow my students and I to explore a much wider range of ideas through computational experiments than we possibly could on our devices. This, in turn, helps us arrive at more compelling findings that we feed into publications, grant proposal activity, and future research directions.”

Hudson Smith
Assistant Professor
