Local, national, and international job opportunities in environmental engineering abound. Careers can be found with the federal and state governments, water utilities, engineering consulting firms, and industry. Environmental Engineering is continuously reported as one of the best jobs with great pay and growth prospects. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that employment for environmental engineers will grow “15 percent from 2012 to 2022, faster than the average for all occupations.” [1]. As of 2014, the average salary for environmental engineers was $83,360. By receiving a degree in Environmental Engineering at Clemson, you will acquire the skills necessary to join this rapidly growing field and tackle some of the major challenges facing society.

Clemson's accredited1 undergraduate Environmental Engineering degree program is offered in the Department of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences. Graduates are eligible for licensing as professional engineers after gaining acceptable experience and passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination and the Principles and Practice of Engineering examination.
