Kershaw County 4-H

Led by 4-H Volunteers Doris McGougan, Cera Burnham and William Burnham, the Eager Beavers return for the new 4-H year. This longstanding club has a proven track record of offering great hands-on opportunities for area youth. They meet at Sandy Grove UMC Fellowship Hall on the third Saturday of each month from 3:30-5:30pm. This club is open to youth ages 5-18.

Led by Rebecca Hudson and Beth Lee-Moeller the Kershaw County 4-H Horse Club is a place for youth to dive into the exciting world of 4-H Horse Projects. While the club is not focused on teaching horseback riding, members build knowledge and skills through hands-on learning in areas such as Record Book, Hippology, Horse Judging, Communication & Presentations contest, and Oral Reasoning. The club provides opportunities for youth to deepen their understanding of horses, strengthen decision-making and communication skills, and prepare for state and regional 4-H competitions. The Kershaw County 4-H Horse Club meets at 1035 Lee Lane in Lugoff. The meeting times are the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm. There is a limit of 12 members for this club and it is open to youth ages 9-18 only.

Led by 4-H Volunteers Ashley Branham and Carolyn Dudley, the Kershaw County 4-H Homeschool Club (3rd-9th grade) typically meets one Monday per month from 10am to around lunch time. The location and actual day can be dependent upon the lesson or plans for that particular month. Meetings are held at Nature as Teacher Preserve.

The Clever Clovers is not just a club—it's a community of middle and high school youth who are passionate about gaining hands-on knowledge and life skills that prepare them for success.

From learning how to change a tire, balance a budget, cook a healthy meal, or ace a college application, members gain the tools they need to build a bright and successful future. Meetings are held at Lyttleton United Methodist Church every other Tuesday, beginning September 2, 2025.

Led by Volunteer Leaders Alyson Mehm and Toni Heriot, the WTC Kershaw 4-H Club welcomes youth ages 9 and up. The club meets monthly at WTC from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., engaging members in hands-on animal and agriculture projects that build skills, knowledge, and leadership.

The 4-H Jr. Naturalist Club is a hands-on nature and natural resources program for youth ages 8–14. Participants will explore wildlife, habitats, conservation, and outdoor science while building a foundation in WHEP training and future competition.

Our new 4-H Beginner’s Sewing Club will give youth ages 9 and up the chance to learn basic sewing skills, complete fun projects, and make new friends. Monthly sessions are planned to begin in September at Palmetto Stitches & Quilts. Participants must be 4-H members.

The 4-H Freedom Wranglers is a leadership-focused club for youth ages 11–16. Through hands-on experiences at All American Farms, members will develop confidence, communication, responsibility, teamwork, and leadership skills while engaging in meaningful personal growth and leadership development activities.
