Rules and Regulations
Parking:
- NO trailers or vehicles are to be parked at the front of the arena, inside/around the covered arena or in warm-up areas.
- NO parking under the entry canopy at the main arena entrance.
- Any vehicle requiring entry to the arena should have prior approval. All deliveries, vendors, concessionaires, etc., will be received by appointment only.
- ABSOLUTELY NO parking in the handicapped areas without designated license plates or hangtags.
- NO parking around drive perimeter at the front of the arena.
- Any vehicle parked inside is subject to current fire codes.
- NO parking inside of barns
Arena/Cattle Complex/Expo:
- Smoking is prohibited in the Arena, Cattle Complex, and Expo Center.
- Alcohol is prohibited in the Arena, Cattle Complex, and Expo Center without prior authorization and security.
- No alcohol at allowed at youth events.
- No loitering in the arena office.
- No unauthorized personnel allowed in the show office.
- No unauthorized personnel allowed in the announcer’s booth. Use of the sound system shall be restricted to use by trained personnel only.
- Any pets (dogs, cats, etc.) must be restrained by a leash. NO pets will be allowed in the business office or the show office of the Arena, Cattle Complex or Expo Center at any time.
- No glass allowed in the arena or on the arena floor.
- Vendors and exhibitors are required to keep their respective areas clean and safe. Vendors and their exhibits must meet fire codes.
- Clemson University, working with law enforcement officials, has implemented a Clear Bag Policy at Garrison Arena and Expo Center. While we encourage spectators to not bring any type of bags, outlined below is what will be permissible to carry into the Garrison Arena/Expo Center should a bag be necessary:
- Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12.” or
- One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).
- Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand (no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”), with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the arena/expo center.
- An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection.
- Patrons will still be able to carry other items into the arena/expo center such as cameras, and smart phones, but their carrying cases will NOT be allowed.
- Stadium cushions and seatbacks are permitted. Seatbacks and cushions with arms or any pockets will not be permitted.
- Blankets and jackets are permitted but will be inspected at entry.
Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: artificial noisemakers, backpacks, non-clear bags or purses, banners/flags/flag poles, coolers, outside food or beverage, umbrellas, weapons of any kind, or any bag larger than the permissible size.
Livestock and Barns:
- NO outside shavings are allowed. NO straw allowed for bedding inside of facilities.
- Livestock shall be washed in designated areas only. Do NOT tie animals to water hydrants, water lines, or electrical conduit lines. Failure to adhere to this policy can cause serious injury and repairs will be billed to the show.
- Stalls, whether used for stock or tack, will be charged at the same rate.
- NO defacement of stalls/doors in any way including, but not limited to staples, nails, screws, stall cards, etc. Stalls with any damage will be charged at a minimum of $150/stall.
- Mistreatment of animals will NOT be tolerated. Management reserves the right to remove any exhibitor from the grounds who violates this rule.
- Manure and bedding are to be taken to the manure pits for disposal. Manure pits are not trash pits. Trash cans/dumpsters are not manure pits.
- Vehicles are not allowed in or around the barns. Fire lanes should remain clear at all times!
- Parking around barns is permitted, but parking CANNOT block access. No parking is allowed in between barns (grassy area of shed rows).
Campground/RV Parking:
- RV parking must check in with show management.
- Campers are allowed either a maximum of one trailer/RV and one tent or two tents per site.
- Tents are not allowed inside of buildings or barns.
- Campers must check out by noon.
- You are responsible for leaving your area clean. Please deposit all trash in the dumpster.
- NO campfires permitted, without fire rings.
- There is NO designated security for RV parking areas. Please make sure all vehicles and belongings are secure. Clemson University and the T. Ed Garrison Livestock Arena and Expo Center are not liable for any loss, damage, or vandalism.
- Generator use must be permitted via Garrison Director and is only permitted when all 70 RV spaces are full.
- Cattle Complex and C-Barn have bathrooms with showers available during certain events.
- Golf carts must be driven by a licensed driver.
