Agreements
Contracts are crucial at Clemson University to ensure compliance with external and state requirements. They facilitate proper review and approval by university officials, ensuring that all agreements align with Clemson’s strategic and operational goals.
Professional Licensure
Clemson University prepares students for licensure in South Carolina, but programs may not meet licensure requirements in other states. See state-specific requirements as you prepare for professional licensure.
State Authorization
State authorization allows Clemson University the ability offer online programs to students who live outside of South Carolina or enroll students in learning placements that will take place outside of South Carolina (such as internships, clinicals, practicums, and student teaching), Clemson University must meet all of the regulatory requirements of the state where the activity will take place. Students must verify their state-specific authorization prior to enrollment or if they plan to relocate during or after their studies.
Faculty Credentials
The Office of Institutional Research manages the faculty credentialing process at Clemson. Formal credentials are required for all employees hired with faculty rank, as defined in Chapter IV of the Faculty Manual, and any non-faculty individual teaching a course who is not teaching through an assistantship. (Note: The Graduate School certifies qualifications for graduate teachers of record.)
Faculty credentials are used for critical metrics and accreditation, such as:
- SACSCOC accreditation to document qualifications of faculty
- Individual program accreditation such as ABET and AACSB
- Determining the percentage of full-time faculty with terminal degrees
