Office of Institutional Research
The Office of Institutional Research collects, analyzes, and maintains institutional data to support strategic decision‑making, accreditation, compliance, and reporting. We produce timely, validated information — including interactive factbooks, routine and ad‑hoc reports, enrollment and outcome metrics, and survey analyses — to inform university leaders, colleges, and departments. We respond to internal and external data requests, coordinate required state and federal submissions, support grant and accreditation needs, and help translate data into actionable insight for planning, assessment, and continuous improvement.
Most general questions can be answered from the Factbook. If you are a Clemson employee and need more detailed information on your program, check out the Internal Tableau Reports.

Interactive Factbook
The Clemson University Interactive Factbook is a series of dashboards that contain selected facts related to our students and employees. They are based on the official data that we report to the state and federal government. Data are updated only once a year, in the fall. Dashboards include: Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions, Enrollment Trends, Student Demographics (single term and trend), Enrolment by Program, International Students by Country, Completions (Degrees Granted), Retention and Graduation Rates (Trends and demographic comparison for single year), Credit Hours, and Employees (Trends and demographics).

Fact Sheets present selected institutional data in a static, accessible format that can be easily printed or read aloud by assistive technologies for individuals with visual impairments.
Internal Reports
Institutional Research maintains a suite of internal, self‑service dashboards that are refreshed daily to provide near‑real‑time visibility into student and course activity. Complementing the Official Interactive Factbook, these Dynamic Reports include term‑level enrollment, course‑level enrollment, and graduating‑students/degrees dashboards. They let department and program leaders monitor registrations, course demand, and degree conferral as events unfold — enabling faster, data‑driven decisions without waiting for annual official reports. These reports are intended for internal planning and are updated daily; data are subject to change. A Clemson login (and VPN when off‑campus) is required for access.

Data Requests
Institutional Research fields data and reporting requests from campus units and external partners through an online request system. We handle custom data pulls, regular reports, and analytic consultations—helpful when the Interactive Factbook or internal dynamic reports don’t contain the information you need. Priority is given to requests that support institutional planning, compliance, and student success; turnaround times vary by complexity.
