Funding Opportunities

Federal Funding Opportunities

ORD monitors newsletters, listserv announcements, and databases of funding opportunities in order to disseminate funding opportunities to faculty throughout the Clemson community via posting on the ORD webpage and through each college’s office of the associate dean for research (ADR). ORD also assists faculty in finding funding through SPIN, a program that notifies investigators of opportunities based on keywords.

Limited Submission Opportunities

Some funding opportunities limit the number of applications that an institution can submit per cycle. Clemson University must select its most competitive proposal(s), which requires an internal evaluation. The mission of ORD is to establish and implement a fair, effective, and timely process for internal competitions for limited-submission funding opportunities.

Young Investigator Opportunities

Some awards, honors, and grants are specifically for young/early career investigators.

R-Initiatives

Clemson University has made great strides in research in recent years, culminating in our distinction as a Carnegie R1: Doctoral University (highest research activity). To further build our research reputation, and in support of our faculty, the Division of Research has several internal funding opportunities.

Foundation Funding Opportunities

These funding opportunities are sourced from private funding or foundations and may help you as you research diverse ways to fund your research, teaching, or programmatic development plans.

Prestigious Awards and Honors

ORD works with the Provost’s Office to manage applications for external honors and awards for which Clemson faculty members are eligible. ORD assists with interpreting award guidelines, developing letters of nomination, and proofreading and editing all elements of the application.

Faculty Insight

Faculty Insight empowers faculty to uncover funding opportunities and identify subject matter experts at Clemson and provides them with a comprehensive, editable pre-populated research profile.
