Veterinary Faculty Openings
Department Chair, Veterinary Medicine and Sciences
The Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine (PCVM) is seeking applicants for the Chair of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Sciences who will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of the Clemson DVM curriculum. The Department Chair will serve as an innovative and strategic thinker who can build consensus amongst a diverse faculty, supporting faculty initiatives in curricular development, and creating a cohesive and collaborative culture for the evaluation and ongoing revision of the DVM program.
Open Rank Tenure or Clinical Faculty - Large Animal and Ambulatory Services
The PCVM is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position to help establish the college's Large Animal and Ambulatory Service. The primary responsibilities of this position are focused on clinical service, teaching and research.Part of the mission of the Clemson CVM is to promote animal and human health in the state of SC through the education of the next generation of veterinary clinicians and scientists with an emphasis on large animals (including cattle, sheep, goats, and horses), general practice and population medicine. The position is designed for an individual committed to this mission by providing large animal clinical service, teaching, and research in both the clinical and pre-clinical curriculum of the developing Clemson DVM program.*
Open Rank Tenure or Non-Tenure Faculty - Pathology
The PCVM is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position to lead the development and implementation of the pathology curriculum within the DVM program. The primary responsibilities of this position are focused on teaching and research. The pathology faculty member will play a vital role in developing and delivering the second year of the curriculum for the next generation of veterinarians for the state of SC. The Diseased Animal course series is a team-taught course focusing on disease pathogenesis in domestic animal species including pathology, microbiology, virology and parasitology.*
Open Rank Tenure or Non-Tenure Faculty – Clinical Pathology
The PCVM is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position to lead the development and implementation of the clinical pathology curriculum within the DVM program. The primary responsibilities of this position are teaching and service with substantial opportunities for research and scholarship if desired. The clinical pathology faculty member will play a vital role in developing and delivering the second and third year of the curriculum for the next generation of veterinarians for the state of SC. Utilizing the classroom, microscopy lab, live animals, and teaching technology, this faculty member will provide students with an applied and clinical science-based education in clinical pathology, preparing them to progress into more advanced coursework.*
Open Rank Tenure or Non-Tenure Faculty – Microbiology/Virology
The PCVM is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position to lead the development and implementation of course materials relevant to veterinary microbiology/virology within the diseased animal curriculum of the DVM program. The primary responsibilities of this position are focused on teaching and research. The faculty member will play a vital role in developing and delivering the second year of the curriculum for the next generation of veterinarians for the state of SC. The Diseased Animal course series is a team-taught course focusing on disease pathogenesis in domestic animal species including pathology, microbiology, virology and parasitology.*
Open Rank Tenure or Non-Tenure Faculty – Community Clinic General Practice, Small Animal
The PCVM is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position for the Clemson Small Animal Community Clinic (Community Clinic). The Community Clinic, Small Animal faculty (General Practitioner, GP) will be primarily responsible for teaching fourth year DVM students fundamental clinical skills in preventive care, primary care, surgery, and dentistry. The caseload will be focused on the underserved in the community, but also supplemented with faculty, staff, and students as needed. A licensed social worker will work in the Community Clinic to provide services for our low-income clients.
*Academic rank would be commensurate with experience.
College Supporting Staff Openings
The PCVM is seeking applicants for a full-time Ambulatory Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) Lead. This position supports the operations of the Clemson PCVM Ambulatory Service. This position ensures the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations, performs administrative tasks, and provides operational support to the team of veterinary professionals in the ambulatory service. Performs other duties as assigned.
