Open Rank Faculty – Public Health
The Public Health faculty position, reporting to the Department Chair, will play an active role in the University’s One Health research community, advancing interdisciplinary approaches that strengthen the connection between animal, human and environmental health. This position will collaborate closely with Clemson’s School of Public Health to expand access-to-care initiatives across South Carolina, enhancing health equity and improving outcomes for people, animals and communities statewide.
The faculty member will also develop and deliver training programs that reflect the American Veterinary Medical Association’s public health priorities, including:

Open Rank Faculty - Shelter Medicine
The Shelter Medicine Faculty member will provide strategic leadership and operational direction for the Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine shelter medicine initiatives- advancing education, outreach and animal welfare. Reporting to the Department Chair, this individual will oversee the College’s Animal Shelter Extension Programs, fostering partnerships with regional shelters to enhance population health and promote best practices in animal care. The role includes coordinating the acquisition and medical management of shelter animals used in surgical training, ensuring compliance with welfare and biosecurity standards, and teaching both hands-on surgical skills and didactic courses in shelter medicine and population health. Additionally, the faculty member will lead the Shelter Medicine Internship and Residency Programs, mentoring and evaluating trainees while integrating shelter medicine principles into Clemson’s competency-based curriculum.
Open Rank Faculty - Large Animal Surgery
The Large Animal Surgery Faculty member will actively and effectively engage in student-centered instruction, coaching, and mentorship. Reporting to the Department Chair and collaborating with the Foundational Sciences and Clinical Skills Lead, this faculty member will design and deliver the large animal surgery curriculum within the team-taught, systems-based and competency-driven program. Responsibilities include developing assessment strategies aligned with the college’s educational framework and promoting cross-course integration of knowledge and skills. The role also involves close collaboration with the PCVM Ambulatory Services to provide students with hands-on, real-world surgical and clinical experience.
Open Rank Faculty - Parasitology
The Parasitology Faculty member will play a key role in advancing veterinary education and research within the college of veterinary medicine. Reporting to the Department Chair, this faculty member will teach parasitology through lectures, labs and case-based discussions in both pre-clinical and clinical years, including NAVLE preparation. The role includes conducting veterinary parasitology research, with research time negotiated with the department chair, and fostering collaboration with the Eukaryotic Pathogens Innovation Center (EPIC) and Animal and Veterinary Sciences (AVS) faculty. This position supports Clemson’s mission to integrate innovative research with hands-on, student-centered learning.
Open Rank Faculty - Anesthesia
The Anesthesia Faculty member will be an essential contributor to the college of veterinary Medicine, helping shape and deliver a comprehensive, competency-based curriculum. Reporting to the Department Chair and working closely with the Foundational Sciences Lead and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, this faculty member will design and teach the year-two anesthesia course, support clinically based and team-taught courses, and assist in developing and leading the clinical anesthesia rotation. The role includes providing anesthesia consultation services through the PCVM Veterinary Services, contributing to the development of lab and clinical case policies, and creating effective assessment strategies. The faculty member will collaborate across disciplines to integrate knowledge and skills throughout the program while engaging in student-centered teaching, mentorship, and professional development.
Open Rank Faculty - Small Animal Surgery
The Small Animal Surgery Faculty member will play a vital role in developing and delivering Clemson University’s systems-based veterinary curriculum. Reporting to the Department Chair and collaborating with the Foundational Sciences and Clinical Skills Lead, this faculty member will design and teach small animal surgery content, create assessment strategies aligned with the college’s competency-based framework, and ensure integration of knowledge and skills across courses and years. The role emphasizes student-centered teaching, mentorship, and collaboration with the on-site small animal Community Clinic and partner clinics to provide students with hands-on, real-world clinical learning experiences.

Reporting to the Department Chair and working with the Foundational Sciences and Clinical Skills Lead, this faculty member will design and teach content in small animal medicine as part of the team-taught, systems-based curriculum. Responsibilities include developing assessment strategies consistent with the college’s competency-based educational model, fostering integration of knowledge and skills across courses, and providing student-centered instruction, coaching and mentorship. The role also involves close collaboration with the on-site small animal community cinic, shelter medicine program and partner veterinary clinics to ensure a comprehensive and applied learning experience.
Open Rank Tenure or Clinical Faculty - Large Animal and Ambulatory Services
The PCVM is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position to help establish the college's Large Animal and Ambulatory Service. The primary responsibilities of this position are focused on clinical service, teaching and research.Part of the mission of the Clemson CVM is to promote animal and human health in the state of SC through the education of the next generation of veterinary clinicians and scientists with an emphasis on large animals (including cattle, sheep, goats, and horses), general practice and population medicine. The position is designed for an individual committed to this mission by providing large animal clinical service, teaching, and research in both the clinical and pre-clinical curriculum of the developing Clemson DVM program.*
Open Rank Tenure or Non-Tenure Faculty - Pathology
The PCVM is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position to lead the development and implementation of the pathology curriculum within the DVM program. The primary responsibilities of this position are focused on teaching and research. The pathology faculty member will play a vital role in developing and delivering the second year of the curriculum for the next generation of veterinarians for the state of SC. The Diseased Animal course series is a team-taught course focusing on disease pathogenesis in domestic animal species including pathology, microbiology, virology and parasitology.*
Open Rank Tenure or Non-Tenure Faculty – Clinical Pathology
The PCVM is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position to lead the development and implementation of the clinical pathology curriculum within the DVM program. The primary responsibilities of this position are teaching and service with substantial opportunities for research and scholarship if desired. The clinical pathology faculty member will play a vital role in developing and delivering the second and third year of the curriculum for the next generation of veterinarians for the state of SC. Utilizing the classroom, microscopy lab, live animals, and teaching technology, this faculty member will provide students with an applied and clinical science-based education in clinical pathology, preparing them to progress into more advanced coursework.*
*Academic rank would be commensurate with experience.
College Supporting Staff Openings
The Multimedia Graphic Specialist will be the key graphic designer and web content manager for the college. This role will also help plan and produce visual, audiovisual and multimedia content for public relations, communications and marketing purposes for the college.
Admissions & Student Finance Coordinator
The Admissions & Student Finance Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact and operational lead for all admissions and recruitment activities within the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM). Reporting to the Director of Admissions and Student Services, this position is responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of recruitment, admissions, and matriculation processes from initial inquiry through enrollment. The Coordinator will implement and document admissions policies and procedures, manage key systems and timelines, and serve as the liaison between the college and external partners on all admissions-related matters.
The Learning Strategist provides academic support and coaching for students by offering success strategies to excel in their classes and by facilitating campus-wide workshops. The Learning Strategist provides one-on-one and small group coaching for students by appointment and/or when referred through Navigate or early alerts from faculty or staff and supports students as they prepare for licensing exams. Performs other duties as assigned.
The Anatomy Laboratory Technician supports the teaching and research missions of the Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine (PCVM) by providing technical expertise, logistical support, and operational management for the anatomy laboratory facilities under the guidance of the Anatomy Faculty. This position ensures that laboratory spaces, equipment, and specimens are prepared, maintained, and managed in a safe, efficient, and educationally optimal manner. Performs other duties as assigned.
The Assessment Coordinator supports the Director of Outcomes and Assessment in the planning, execution, and evaluation of assessment activities within the College of Veterinary Medicine. This role ensures effective collection, analysis, and reporting of data related to student learning outcomes, accreditation standards, and program improvement initiatives. The Coordinator will collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to promote a culture of continuous improvement and evidence-based decision-making. Coordinator's collaboration with faculty, staff, and administrators is key in promoting a culture of continuous improvement and evidence-based decision-making, providing a solid foundation for confident and secure program improvement.
The Inventory Manager will support the College's mission by ensuring that inventory systems are responsive to the evolving needs of teaching, research, and clinical service areas through the oversight of procurement, storage, distribution, and tracking of supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals across the College of Veterinary Medicine, along with regular collaboration with the CVM Business Office, CVM operational units, University Procurement teams, and vendors to support strategic and comprehensive inventory management and purchasing.
The Compliance Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for regulatory and institutional compliance matters within the College of Veterinary Medicine. This position coordinates and supports compliance programs related to occupational health, radiation safety, biosafety, controlled substances, hazardous waste management, animal research oversight, and USDA regulatory requirements. The role ensures alignment with applicable federal and state regulations, university policies, and accreditation standards while fostering a culture of safety and ethical responsibility across teaching, research, and clinical operations. Performs other duties as assigned.
Ambulatory Services Coordinator
The Ambulatory Services Coordinator supports the operations of the Clemson CVM Ambulatory Service. This position ensures the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations, performs administrative tasks, and provides operational support to the team of veterinary professionals in the ambulatory service. Performs other duties as assigned.
