Open Rank Tenure or Non-Tenure Faculty - Veterinary Anesthesia Educator
The PCVM is seeking applicants for a full-time or part-time position to serve as a Veterinary Anesthesia Educator. This faculty position will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of the Clemson DVM curriculum. The successful candidate will have a primary instructional role developing and delivering anesthesia didactic curriculum, clinical skills, and perioperative care in the integrated Clemson DVM curriculum. This role is designed to attract outstanding educators and experienced clinicians who are enthusiastic about teaching anesthesia skills and knowledge.
Open Rank Tenure or Non-Tenure Faculty – Small Animal Surgical Educator
The Clemson University Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a full-time position to serve as a Small Animal Surgical Educator. This faculty position will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of the Clemson DVM curriculum. The successful candidate will have a primary instructional role developing and delivering small animal surgical skills and perioperative care in the integrated Clemson DVM curriculum. This role is designed to attract outstanding educators and experienced clinicians who are passionate about teaching surgical skills.
Open Rank Tenure or Non-Tenure Faculty – Microbiology and Infectious Diseases
The PCVM is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position to lead the development and implementation of course materials relevant to veterinary infectious diseases, with a focus on microbiology/virology within the diseased animal curriculum of the DVM program. The primary responsibilities of this position are focused on teaching and curriculum development. Research and clinical microbiology services are not required for this position but are encouraged and will be discussed with the department chair, based upon interest. Academic rank is commensurate with experience. The anticipated start date for this appointment will be approximately July 1, 2026.
Part Time Lecturer (Evergreen)
The new Clemson University Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) seeks highly qualified candidates to fill course instruction needs for specialty topics in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine curriculum.
Please note: This advertisement is not for a specific role but for various temporary faculty opportunities within the CVM as they become available.
This part-time opportunity to teach one or more courses in a variety of specialty areas is available as needed. Courses may be offered in spring and/or fall terms at the CVM campus in Pendleton, SC. Instruction may include didactic lectures, laboratory sessions, clinical teaching and/or consultation on clinical cases. The start date and details of course delivery vary according to departmental teaching needs.

Open Rank Faculty - Shelter Medicine
The Shelter Medicine Faculty member will provide strategic leadership and operational direction for the Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine shelter medicine initiatives- advancing education, outreach and animal welfare. Reporting to the Department Chair, this individual will oversee the College’s Animal Shelter Extension Programs, fostering partnerships with regional shelters to enhance population health and promote best practices in animal care. The role includes coordinating the acquisition and medical management of shelter animals used in surgical training, ensuring compliance with welfare and biosecurity standards, and teaching both hands-on surgical skills and didactic courses in shelter medicine and population health. Additionally, the faculty member will lead the Shelter Medicine Internship and Residency Programs, mentoring and evaluating trainees while integrating shelter medicine principles into Clemson’s competency-based curriculum.
Open Rank Faculty - Large Animal Surgery
The Large Animal Surgery Faculty member will actively and effectively engage in student-centered instruction, coaching, and mentorship. Reporting to the Department Chair and collaborating with the Foundational Sciences and Clinical Skills Lead, this faculty member will design and deliver the large animal surgery curriculum within the team-taught, systems-based and competency-driven program. Responsibilities include developing assessment strategies aligned with the college’s educational framework and promoting cross-course integration of knowledge and skills. The role also involves close collaboration with the PCVM Ambulatory Services to provide students with hands-on, real-world surgical and clinical experience.
Open Rank Faculty - Small Animal Internal Medicine
The small animal internal medicine faculty member will play a key instructional and collaborative role within the college of veterinary medicine. Reporting to the Department Chair and working with the Foundational Sciences and Clinical Skills Lead, this faculty member will design and teach content in small animal medicine as part of the team-taught, systems-based curriculum. Responsibilities include developing assessment strategies consistent with the college’s competency-based educational model, fostering integration of knowledge and skills across courses, and providing student-centered instruction, coaching and mentorship. The role also involves close collaboration with the on-site small animal community clinic, shelter medicine program and partner veterinary clinics to ensure a comprehensive and applied learning experience.
Open Rank Tenure or Clinical Faculty - Large Animal and Ambulatory Services
The PCVM is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position to help establish the college's Large Animal and Ambulatory Service. The primary responsibilities of this position are focused on clinical service, teaching and research.Part of the mission of the Clemson CVM is to promote animal and human health in the state of SC through the education of the next generation of veterinary clinicians and scientists with an emphasis on large animals (including cattle, sheep, goats, and horses), general practice and population medicine. The position is designed for an individual committed to this mission by providing large animal clinical service, teaching, and research in both the clinical and pre-clinical curriculum of the developing Clemson DVM program.*
Open Rank Tenure or Non-Tenure Faculty – Clinical Pathology
The PCVM is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position to lead the development and implementation of the clinical pathology curriculum within the DVM program. The primary responsibilities of this position are teaching and service with substantial opportunities for research and scholarship if desired. The clinical pathology faculty member will play a vital role in developing and delivering the second and third year of the curriculum for the next generation of veterinarians for the state of SC. Utilizing the classroom, microscopy lab, live animals, and teaching technology, this faculty member will provide students with an applied and clinical science-based education in clinical pathology, preparing them to progress into more advanced coursework.*
*Academic rank would be commensurate with experience.
College Supporting Staff Openings
The CVM Systems Specialist for the Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) supports the administration, configuration, and operation of CVM application systems, including EMR, PACS, and Slate. This role assists with system configuration, reporting, workflow support, and system troubleshooting to support reliable system performance and effective use across CVM operations.
The Ambulatory LVT supports the operations of the Clemson CVM Ambulatory Services. This position ensures the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations, performs licensed veterinary technician duties, and provides operational support to the team of veterinary professionals in the Ambulatory Services area. Performs other duties as assigned.
