Club Meetings held monthly on Thursdays from June-November at the Colleton County Clemson Extension Office in Walterboro. Open to youth ages 5-18 as of January 1, 2025.
$15 annual 4-H membership fee if not already paid plus an additional $30 club fee.

Club Meetings held monthly on Sundays from June-November at the Ashley River - Dorchester Library in Summerville. Open to youth ages 5-18 as of January 1, 2025.

Dorchester County 4-H Teen Council
Club Meetings held quarterly from September to June at the Dorchester County Clemson Extension Office in St. George and via Zoom. Open to youth ages 13-18 as of January 1, 2025.
Applications open NOW until December 1, 2025.
$15 annual 4-H membership fee if not already paid. No additional club fees.

Activities

Dorchester County 4-H Embryology Program
Three week program where students hatch chicks in the classroom or gathering space, learning about biology, animal life cycles, and the responsibilities of caring for live animals. Students observe embryo development through candling, learn about poultry science, and develop skills like scientific observation and teamwork, fostering a respect for life through hands-on engagement.
Open to Dorchester County classrooms, schools, micro-schools, homeschool co-ops, or other development programs serving youth ages 5-18 as of January 1, 2025.
$25 per kit, includes incubator, eggs, instructional materials and videos for daily lessons, and additional support and supplies as needed and available.

Dorchester County 4-H School or Community Gardening
Clemson Extension offers research-based horticulture training and technical assistance to school and community gardens throughout South Carolina. Find helpful resources and learn more about our online courses where participants learn valuable horticulture skills to enhance and grow their school and community-based garden projects.

4-H Pinckney Leadership Program
The 4-H Pinckney Leadership Program is a program designed for middle and high school students who are looking to develop their leadership abilities and awareness of civic engagement. Founded after the late Senator Clementa Pinckney, the program aims to set forth the standards and principles valued by Senator Pinckney. Our goal is to empower students to lead with humility, serve with compassion, and inspire others through integrity.

Dorchester County 4-H Healthy Habits Program
A six-module, hands-on experience to teach skills in nutrition and educate youth about food access. The Healthy Habits program uses a four-pronged approach to strategically leverage the 4‑H system to address food access, nutrition, and health equity. Along with educating 4-H'ers, the program also employs a ‘Teens as Teachers” approach with teens educating younger youth and empowering their parents and families to make healthy food choices.
Open to Dorchester County individual members, classrooms, schools, micro-schools, homeschool co-ops, or other development programs serving youth ages 5-18 as of January 1, 2025.
$20 per kit (suitable for up 12 participants), includes guidebook and instructional materials, at least two guided modules in the St. George office kitchen (a school or community cooking area near you may be feasible on a case by case basis), and additional support and supplies as needed and available.
