Tool Guides
Important
- Yuja Panorama only supports DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX, PDF, HTML, TXT, GIF, XLS, XLSX, ODT, ODP, ODS, and RTF files in addition to Canvas content.
- Faculty who customize their Yuja Panorama settings will need to reapply these settings in any newly copied course shells.
- Faculty who are not in the Languages department are strongly encouraged to turn on the "Language Translation" alternate format.
Additional Information
- Who can use Panorama?
- How can employees get personalized training on Panorama?
Clemson Online offers an Instructor-led training option for employees. Visit the Clemson Online Events page and schedule a Clemson Online Booking. You may have to click the "Show More Services" button to find this session topic.
- How does Panorama differ from existing Canvas accessibility tools?
One of the most noticeable differences is that Panorama examines documents in addition to course content. Also, the reporting interface allows faculty to better track the progress they have made. Finally, students benefit from the alternate formats feature.
There are a couple of items which Canvas currently checks for that Panorama does not and vice versa. The items Canvas checks for that Panorama does not includes:
- Links with the same destination are immediately next to one other
- Header cells in table do not have scope
- What do I do if Panorama won't generate a report or alternate format in Canvas?
More than likely, the page or file is open in a separate tab and will have to be closed before the scan or alternate format generator is run again.
- Close all extra browser tabs that have the Canvas page or file opened.
- In the tab where you tried to generate a report or alternate format, navigate to the Canvas page or to the file.
- Re-save the Canvas page or re-upload the file.
- Navigate back to where you tried to generate the report or alternate format.
- Re-generate the report or alternate format.
If this does not work, contact IThelp@clemson.edu or Yuja Support.
- Can Panorama be used on files outside of Canvas?
Yes. Yuja provides a separate portal site where files may be uploaded, scanned, and remediated.
This said, it is recommended that files with sensitive information are not uploaded to this site.
While this portal has unlimited storage, the portal should only be used for testing and fixing accessibility. Once the file is as accessible as Panorama can test for, the final version should be moved to one of Clemson's Cloud Storage solutions.
Note: The files uploaded to this site will not be available to after leaving Clemson.
Accessing Yuja Panorama Outside of Canvas
Before you will be able to use the separate portal, you will need to self enroll in the Create Yuja Panorama Portal Login course and follow the provided directions to create your account.
Once you have an account, go to https://panorama.yuja.com/login and login with your email address. From there you will be able to upload files, click on the files, then use the interfaces described in the Instructor Overview.
