This is a nine-month position (Aug. 15–May 15) with job duties consisting of teaching two courses per semester, conducting research and light service duties. The appointment is initially for two semesters (Aug. 15, 2023–May 15, 2024) but is renewable for two additional years contingent upon funding and performance. The targeted research areas are operations research, statistics, probability and data science. Candidates with strong potential for successful collaboration with current faculty in the Division of Statistics and Operations Research will be given highest consideration.

Assistant Professor
Division of Statistics and Operations Research

The School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at Clemson University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position starting with the Fall 2023 semester. The position is targeted toward individuals with expertise in probability and/or applied probability, but all areas in probability and statistics will be considered. Targeted recruiting is at the assistant professor rank.

The Division of Statistics and Operations Research within the SMSS is comprised of the research groups of data science, operations research, and probability and mathematical statistics. Many faculty members within this division collaborate with faculty from the Division of Mathematics, which includes the research groups of algebra and discrete mathematics, computational mathematics, and pure and applied analysis. The school offers the full range of baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral degrees.
