Profile/About Me
Dr. Ellen H. Breazel is a Principal Lecturer and Assistant Director of Data Science, Program Development and Industrial Relations in the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at Clemson University. Dr. Breazel began teaching at Clemson in 2008. She helped create and implement the 10 course online Masters in Data Science and Analytics program jointly offered between School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences (SMSS) and Department of Management. In the program’s 2nd year of existence, it was ranked #5 in Online Data Science degrees from Fortune. Ellen also spearheaded the creation of the BS degree in Data Science, a degree at the intersection of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science. Dr. Breazel has worked with the AP Statistics program since 2007. She has been a reader, table leader, question leader, and exam leader during the AP Statistics readings. Dr. Breazel is a College Board AP Statistics Consultant. She spent from 2014 to 2021 on the AP Statistics Test Development Committee, including serving as Higher Ed chair for 4 years. Her professional interests include statistical computing, data science, and statistics education.
