Research Interests
I am interested in developing statistical methods to improve public health surveillance systems. My work combines Bayesian spatiotemporal hierarchical models with optimization techniques to allocate limited laboratory testing resources more effectively. Using COVID-19 case data in South Carolina as a case study, I evaluate how surveillance designs can be optimized to recover true incidence patterns while minimizing estimation error.
