Profile/About Me
I am a Ph.D. student in Mathematical Sciences at Clemson University with research interests in mathematical biology, stochastic modeling, and network science. My work focuses on developing mathematical and computational models to understand complex biological systems, particularly the spread and management of infectious diseases in plants and other biological populations.
Before joining Clemson University, I served as an Adjunct Instructor and Tutor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) and previously as a Lecturer in Mathematics at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Throughout my academic career, I have been passionate about both research and teaching, combining rigorous mathematical analysis with practical applications.
As an educator, I am committed to creating an engaging learning environment that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and a deep appreciation for mathematics. I enjoy mentoring students and helping them develop the analytical skills needed for success in both academia and industry.
Research Interests
My research focuses on mathematical biology, stochastic modeling, network science, and computational mathematics, with an emphasis on developing mathematical models to understand complex biological systems and infectious disease dynamics. I am particularly interested in network-based epidemic modeling, spatially explicit models, and data-driven approaches that integrate mathematical theory with computational simulation to address real-world challenges in agriculture and public health. My broader research experience also includes graph theory, combinatorics, and cryptography, reflecting my interest in interdisciplinary applications of mathematics.
