Profile

Amy Garrison is a faculty senior lecturer in the Clemson University School of Nursing who teaches primarily in the areas of pathophysiology, inpatient and outpatient medical simulation, and the graduate family nurse practitioner program. Her background includes experience in the ICU and CCU, and she continues to actively practice as an NP in the outpatient clinical setting. She is an American Nurses Credentialing Center Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and serves as clinical faculty for both graduate and undergraduate nursing students. Additional certifications obtained by Dr. Garrison include the Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) certification and a graduate Online Teaching Certificate from Clemson University’s Department of Education. Dr. Garrison has collided her passion as an advanced practice provider with teaching by designing unique simulation experiences for both undergraduate and graduate nursing students. She serves on the board for the Gamma Mu chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Clemson Nursing Alumni Council, and the South Carolina State Board of Nursing Investigational Review Committee. She is a member of ANCC, AANP, NONPF, NLN, and SCNESA.
