Educational BackgroundBA Sociology | ProfileDana Southern is assisting with the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program (OBPP) with responsibilities of logistics coordinator for OBPP trainings in the U.S. Before joining the Olweus program, Dana served as the community outreach coordinator for Building Dreams Mentoring Program and Safe Families. Mrs. Southern was responsible for community mobilization, volunteer recruitment, and served as the primary liaison with Greenville County Schools for both initiatives. Within Building Dreams, she served as training coordinator and provided match support for families in Building Dreams. With strong interest in support for families and children, she has extensive experience as a board member of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas and the Make-a-Wish Foundation of South Carolina. Before moving to S.C., her prior work experience included intake assessment, suicide hotline, and admissions at Charter Hospital in Asheville, N.C. She is currently a Certified Family Solutions Program (FSP) Group Co-Leader, which is a best practice, early-intervention program for at risk youth. |
