I am currently enrolled in the PhD in Nursing program at MUSC. For the past 8 years, I have worked as an RN primarily in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I am a board member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the National Association of Neonatal Nurses, and the American Nurses Association. I am Certified in Nursing Education and am very excited to have this distinction of excellence in my profession. I was recently selected to be a part of the Kaplan Nightingale Mentorship Program for the 2020 year. I have strong beliefs in family values and implement this through nursing practice using the Family Centered Care Model. I enjoy cooking, the outdoors, hiking, and exploring the upstate with my husband and our German Shepherd. I am of Hispanic heritage and speak Spanish fluently.
