Profile

I am an AI/ML engineer who can speak in business analytics and public health sciences. Early on in my career I implemented countless AI applications in healthcare and finance, and published them in top journals. Then one day I looked back and realized that none of them directly transformed the experience of a consumer or a patient because most of them lacked clinical or business implications in the end.
Over time, my research began to focus on how to make these tools actually matter, instead of chasing performance metrics on a leaderboard. My endeavors naturally led me to explore the fairness and explainability of AI/ML applications, along with strategies to leash them away from potential harm or disparate impacts against vulnerable populations.
