Profile

Dr. Nasaskyia R. Hicks is a research assistant professor in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Criminal Justice at Clemson University. She holds a doctorate in education from Columbia International University. Dr. Hicks’s research intersects education and criminal justice, with a primary focus on school violence and safety. She collaborates with school districts across South Carolina to implement and evaluate school-based prevention programs. Dr. Hicks leads multiple interdisciplinary research projects funded by the US Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Education. Her recent work has been published in the Journal of Veterans Studies, Journal of Applied Juvenile Justice Services, and Phi Delta Kappan.
