Profile

Dr. Nasaskyia R. Hicks is a research assistant professor in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice and an affiliate member of the Drugs and Crime Research Lab. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Clemson’s Center for Criminal Justice and Social Research under the mentorship of Dr. Bryan Lee Miller. Dr. Hicks holds a doctorate in educational leadership from Columbia International University. Her research primarily focuses on preventing school violence. She collaborates with school districts across South Carolina to implement and evaluate school-based prevention programs. Dr. Hicks has been awarded over $3 million and currently leads several interdisciplinary research projects supported by the U.S. Department of Justice and the South Carolina Department of Education.
