Profile

Before starting his career at Clemson, C.J. obtained his Master's degree in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. A lover of communication research, he has presented papers at several conferences, most notably CCA, NCA, ECA, and PACE. With a teaching philosophy centered on collaborative-learning, awareness, and self-actualization, C.J. measures success in public speaking by tracking student progress and encouraging creativity. He currently serves as chair of the Communication Department's Event Planning and PR Committee and fosters student engagement as a Faculty Friend.

Research Interests

Performance, Identity, Pedagogy, and Facework.
