MENG SYSE Program

The Department of Industrial Engineering at Clemson University collaborates with departments across the College of Engineering, Computing, and Applied Sciences to offer students interdisciplinary degree programs in Systems Engineering. Pursue a 12-credit hour Graduate Certificate in Systems Engineering or pursue a Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering (MENG SYSE) by stacking graduate certificate programs en route to your degree.

Graduate Certificate in Systems Engineering

Our Graduate Certificate in Systems Engineering is a great way to advance your career, earn a Clemson University-recognized credential, and jumpstart your pursuit of a MENG degree. Students complete one required Systems Engineering course (SYSE 8010 or SYSE 8020) and select from a curated list of eligible electives to earn a degree tailored to their needs and career goals.

Master of Engineering Systems Engineering

Our MENG SYSE program at Clemson University allows students to stack graduate certificates to create a customized master’s degree aligned with their career goals. Students begin by completing the Graduate Certificate in Systems Engineering, then select from an approved list of ten post-baccalaureate and graduate certificate programs. Students complete the Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering program with a two-semester capstone experience which allows students to apply knowledge to real-world problems. Many students working in industry can complete their capstone project with their employer, a return on investment for employer-tuition assistance or a path forward in their corporation.

The Master of Engineering (MEng) in Systems Engineering program is a non-thesis graduate program designed to prepare students for careers in industry. Students must complete at least 30 credit hours of approved coursework with a cumulative GPR of 3.0 or higher.
