We know planning your finances is an important part of preparing to study in the U.S. We encourage you to use the tools below to estimate your costs and create a realistic budget for your time at Clemson University.
Financial Requirements for International Students
To request the Form I-20, you must complete the Financial Attestation Form (PDF), which calculates the funding you need to show for visa eligibility. Estimates are based on the Graduate Tuition and Fees Calculator and the Non-South Carolina Resident Cost of Attendance amounts.
Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students must live on campus as first-year students. There are several on-campus housing options available to students. Your budget should include:
- Tuition and fees
- Room and board
- Health Insurance
- Personal expenses (transportation, phone, clothing, etc.)
Graduate Students
Graduate students usually live off campus in nearby apartments available for rent. Student Affairs provides an excellent resource for off-campus housing information to get you started. Your budget should include:

Clemson's Office of Student Financial Aid also provides estimates on the Cost of Attendance to help you budget for expenses other than tuition and fees, such as housing, transportation, a laptop computer, etc. International students are considered non-residents when reviewing the cost of attendance estimates.
