Economic Development at Clemson focuses on providing an education that develops the talent needed for our state, national, and global economy. Clemson faculty, staff and students engage in world-class research and public service activities to address problems that have local and global impact and work closely with public and private partners to promote innovation and economic development.
The Clemson innovation campuses and centers associated with economic development provide coordinated teaching, research and community engagement programs that are aligned with key strategic industry clusters for South Carolina. These campuses and centers also provide specialized facilities and services that create an synergistic environment where Clemson's faculty, staff and students can interact with researchers from our private-industry partners to create new knowledge and new ways of using knowledge. Research is also conducted at the Public Service Activities' five Research and Education Centers (REC) strategically located in the state's distinct soil and climate regions.
