Ashley Clayton
Student Services Coordinator
aclayt8@clemson.edu

Bio
I earned my bachelor's degree in early childhood and family studies from Southern Wesleyan University and began my career with South Carolina Department of Social Services (DSS) as a family success coach where I worked with TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) and SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) participants where I helped them overcome barriers in their life so that they can become self-sufficient. I then stepped into another role where I was a workforce consultant with DSS and helped SNAP and TANF participants obtain and find work. I also helped them create resumes, mock interviews, created workshops, attended job fairs, and hosted job fairs. The goal was to help these participants find work so that they could then close their TANF and SNAP cases. I recently just earned my Master of Science in Human Services with a minor in social and community services from Capella University. I am super excited to step into this new role at Clemson University. I truly enjoy helping people!
