Historic industrial landscapes provide historians an abundance of information about how a city grew and developed, both characteristically and economically. The following is an evolution of the industriallandscape of Union Pier, beginning in 1888 spanning sixty seven years to 1955 and ending with the present day with a glimpse into the future. Using Sanborn Fire Insurance maps from 1888, 1902, 1944 and 1955 along with images and newspaper articles, a visual narrative shows the development and use of this landscape.
