Mission

The Clemson Experimental Forest is irreplaceable, and it's mission is to serve as an educational, environmental, scientific and social asset in perpetuity.

Guiding Principles

Stewardship

We manage the Forest with care and responsibility, upholding the principles of the Bankhead-Jones Act; maintain the Forest as a resource for education, research, conservation and outreach; and balance the needs of students, faculty, community, University growth and long-term sustainability.

Integrity

We build trust through transparent and ethical decision-making, prioritizing the Forest’s legacy and acknowledging stakeholders.

Collaboration

We foster intentional partnerships with the campus, surrounding communities and other stakeholders, working with them toward shared goals.

Sustainability

We adopt practices that ensure the Forest remains a thriving ecosystem and educational resource for future generations.
