Educational BackgroundPh.D. Biopsychology M.A. Biopsychology BA Psychology BS Computer Science | ProfileDr. Pilcher came to Clemson in 2001 and was awarded an Alumni Distinguished Professorship in 2009. She was the 2011-12 Fulbright-Freud Scholar at the University of Vienna and the Sigmund Freud Museum in Vienna, Austria and was recognized as a Fellow in the Association of Psychological Science in 2010. In December 2015, Dr. Pilcher was the recipient of The Class of 1939 Award for Excellence at Clemson. She is a candidate on the Fulbright Specialist Roster for Global and Public Health and is a Sigma Xi Distinguished Lecturer. She is also the Faculty Fellow for Global Learning in the Office of Global Engagement. Dr. Pilcher has been principal investigator on research grants cumulatively worth more than $2 million. In addition to her academic classes, she also leads a traditional, non-competitive martial art on campus as Leisure Skills classes and for faculty/staff. Before coming to Clemson, Dr. Pilcher was on faculty at Bradley University and was a research psychologist and captain in the U.S. Army at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research.
