Profile/About Me

Jason McNeill obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from the University of California at Berkeley in 1999. After a postdoctoral appointment at University of Texas, Austin, he joined the faculty at Clemson in 2002. In 2006 he was the recipient of the CAREER award from the National Science Foundation.

Research Interests

Research in the McNeill laboratory includes the development and application of laser spectroscopy methods such as single molecule spectroscopy and kinetics, picosecond / femtosecond fluorescence spectroscopy, super-resolution fluorescence microscopy. Research is focused at the interface of nanomaterials and biology, including the development of highly fluorescent nanoparticles for sensing and chemical imaging, and photoswitching nanoparticles for advanced nanoscale imaging applications. Research also involves understanding charge transport in organic photovoltaic materials.
