Professor Gibson joined the School of Accountancy at Clemson University in January 2022. Previously she served as Assistant Professor of Accounting for Southern Wesleyan University. Prior to academia, Professor Gibson worked in all the different roles in accounting and even management/supply chain in various fields and internships. However, over the last decade, she has devoted her life to academia, teaching various accounting courses at the university/community college level. Professor Gibson feels overjoyed to see Clemson Students succeed and start internships, applying what they learned in her classroom!

Research Interests

  • Professor Gibson’s research focuses on writing a few case studies such as “A Teaching Case Applying International Standards to US GAAP with Accounting for the Statement of Cash Flow in an International Virtual Exchange Experience” and “Helping to Reduce Fraud at the Core”. My research publications focused on academic dishonesty and how accounting professors can help and then, another study focuses on the increase of fraud during the pandemic with quantitative analysis.
