Airport Shuttles

The Clemson University Tiger Transit Holiday Airport Shuttle provides students with free transportation between main campus and Greenville-Spartanburg (GSP) and Charlotte-Douglas (CLT) International Airports. All rides are posted and booked through clemsonbus.com using your @clemson.edu email address. Other email addresses will not work.

Please note that there are no shuttles operating on home football game days, and failure to cancel your shuttle reservation more than 24 hours in advance or failure to show for the shuttle will result in a $5 fee.

Airport Shuttle Basics

  • Space is limited. Each shuttle has room for 12-28 passengers depending on available buses, and all shuttles must meet a five-rider minimum to operate.
  • Seats are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis with a waitlist option. Students should reserve their shuttle as early as possible because seats are not guaranteed if requests exceed capacity. Waitlist requests are cleared in the order that reservations are made.
  • Shuttles will be posted approximately two months prior to the start of the associated University break.
  • Additional shuttles seats, times and dates may be added based on waitlist demand and available resources. Any shuttle not meeting the minimum of five riders will be canceled approximately two weeks prior to the shuttle date.
  • If the airport shuttles provided do not meet your needs, there are other cost-effective options available to use at your discretion. Clemson University does not manage or endorse those services in any way.

Airport Shuttle Waitlists

Waitlists are kept for each shuttle that reaches capacity. When a student is moved from the waitlist to the confirmed passenger list, they will receive an automated email notifying them of the change.

Waitlists are used to assess where the most travel demand exists. Additional capacity is added, when possible, to clear waitlists no later than two weeks prior to the shuttle date.

Travel Day information

Passengers are limited to two suitcases and a personal item.

Pickup/Drop-off Times and Locations

Clemson
Standard shuttle departure times from campus are 6:30 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. to GSP and 6:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. to CLT. Additional shuttle times may be added based on resource availability.

The designated pickup and drop-off location for most shuttles is in front of Gressette Hall (formerly Core Campus A) on the wide sidewalk.

If the shuttle you requested is listed as “XX PM to GSP via Tiger Commute,” you will board the Tiger Commute Bus in front of the Academic Success Center. You will be transported to CU-ICAR in Greenville, where a Tiger Transit bus will be waiting to take you the rest of the way to GSP airport.

Charlotte-Douglas International Airport (CLT)
Standard shuttle departure times from CLT airport are 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The designated pickup location at CLT is at Passenger Pick-up Area – Zone 3 outside of baggage claim. There are orange banners around the columns that say, “Zone 3.” Stand where Zone 2 and Zone 3 meet. We will be in the PASSENGER CAR LOADING ZONE, not with the buses. You will need to use a crosswalk to walk past the buses to meet the Tiger Transit bus. *
*Subject to change based on airport construction.

Standard shuttle departure times from GSP airport are 11:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m., 5:45 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

The designated pickup location at GSP is outside of the baggage claim doors in the outer lane. You will need to use a crosswalk to get to the center median to meet the Tiger Transit bus. *
*Subject to change based on airport construction.

Policies and Procedures

  • Communicate flight delays and/or cancellations
If your flight is slightly delayed, please contact Tiger Transit at 864-624-2725 using call, text or WhatsApp message so that the driver can be notified. If your flight is changed or delayed by more than 30 minutes, you will need to make alternate transportation arrangements or reserve a seat on the next departing shuttle, as the shuttle cannot wait for you.
  • Cancel a shuttle reservation
To cancel your reservation, locate your reservation on clemsonbus.com. Click “Reserved” on the shuttle posting. “Edit Reservation” will appear. Select “Cancel.” You will be asked to confirm your cancellation. No further communication is provided when you confirm your cancellation.
  • 3-strike policy
Parking and Transportation Services maintains records for each shuttle of all individuals who have confirmed seats and do not show up. If a person does not show and did not cancel their seat 24 hours prior to the shuttle departure time, that person receives a strike and will be charged the $5 no-show fee. Any individual who gets three or more strikes in one academic year will not be permitted to use this service for the remainder of the academic year. Any existing future reservations will be canceled on behalf of the student.

This policy applies to students who receive a seat reservation after being on the waitlist. If a student knows that they no longer need transportation, it is their responsibility to cancel both seat reservations and waitlist reservations.
