Ready to Answer the Call
The Clemson University Public Safety E-911 / Communications Center is a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) that serves the University's main campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It assists the community and visitors by answering emergency and non-emergency calls and obtaining information to properly serve members of our community in their time of need. Our Communication Specialists are trained and certified by the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.

Email is not an emergency response system. For non-emergencies, email CUPD at police@clemson.edu.
Text-to-911
Text-to-911 is now available on Clemson University’s main campus. While calling is still the best option if you can, anyone can text 911 while on main campus to report an emergency.

Utilize the Text CU Dispatch feature in the Rave Guardian app to request emergency assistance or submit crime tips.
Join Our Team
Communications Specialist - 911 Dispatcher
Answer all emergency and non-emergency telephone lines, obtain and record pertinent information in the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system regarding the nature and urgency of the situation. Determines appropriate response and expeditiously alerts responding emergency response units (Police, Fire or EMS) via radio and/or telephone. Dispatches and directs officers promptly to emergency, fire and medical locations. Operates the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) application to obtain information. Monitors an assortment of CCTVs, burglar alarms, fire alarms, local law enforcement channels and more.

Base Salary Range
Uncertified: $39,325.00
Certified: $42,805.00 - $45,546.00
CUPD Communications Specialist III Shift Supplements
Day Shift 12-Hour Certified TCO: $2,088.00 per year
Night Shift 12-Hour Certified TCO: $4,176.00 per year

Benefits
Insurance: Medical, dental, vision, pharmaceutical and life insurance policies are available through the South Carolina State Health Plan. Family members may be added to the medical insurance at a group rate.
Retirement: TCOs can participate in the South Carolina Retirement System. The university and the employee both contribute funds monthly to this program.
Tuition Assistance: Clemson University offers employees six credit hours of tuition assistance per semester after one year of employment.
Holidays: Thirteen paid holidays provided per year
Annual Leave: Accrual at a rate of 10 hours per month
Sick Leave: Accrual at a rate of 10 hours per month
