SSO Awareness Campaign
To avoid clogged pipes, only flush human waste and toilet paper down the drain. Clogged pipes are not only costly to fix, but can also lead to sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs) that could introduce harmful bacteria into local waterways and impact their health. Do your part to protect our clean water:
OK to flush:
- Human waste
- Toilet paper
Do NOT flush:
- Wipes (including “flushable”)
- Sanitary products
- Coffee grounds
- Paint thinner
- Paper towels
- Diapers
- Medicine
- Cigarette filters
- Tissues
- Fats, oils & grease
- Cat litter
- Trash
